Fondue · member experience

Flagship programs under my tenure

Two member-facing initiatives illustrate how the org and system work together. These are the kind of regulated delivery my team owns, not portfolio decoration.

ESI PDP migration

Led design for showcasing PDP (prescription drug plan) information to members through Centene's migration to ESI as PDP provider. See the full ESI pharmacy migration case study for DCLU, claims, and Ambetter reuse.

AEM & SPA modernization

Led design for Secure Chassis and AEM SPA migration across Medicaid, Medicare, PDP, and Marketplace populations. See the full AEM modernization case study for legacy-to-chassis mapping and platform delivery.

Secure member modernization

Sponsored consolidation of secure member experiences onto a single Fondue-based framework as part of chassis modernization. Fewer fragmented patterns, faster iteration with governance, and aligned design and engineering delivery.

Leadership scope

I've held leadership roles at different points in my career. Centene is where I've stayed longest and built the most scale. I grew a 30+ designer organization, modernized Fondue, and led member-facing programs through regulated, high-stakes delivery. I lead as a servant leader: helping the team when they need it while keeping business priorities in focus.

People

30+ designers and accessibility specialists. Hiring, coaching, promotions, and an environment of trust and accountability. I support designers when they need it and set clear ownership across the lifecycle.

Systems

Grew and modernized Fondue into a partner-friendly design system where design tokens and code deploy together, not as separate handoffs. Accessibility standards (WCAG) are part of how we govern components, not a one-time audit. Explore the Fondue systems page →

Products

Member portals spanning benefits, PDP, account, and secure enrollment. High-traffic flows where regression risk, HIPAA compliance, and security are constant.

Stakeholders

Product, engineering, security, compliance, member experience, and external partners. Aligned on prioritization, governance, and what members see in production.

Challenge

Enterprise health care design does not scale on hero screens alone. Teams fragment across properties, partners need the same components engineering ships, and members expect continuity when programs change. PDP providers migrate, secure enrollment modernizes, and acquisition integrations run in parallel.

Members do not see org charts. They see whether they can understand their benefits and trust the experience. Leadership had to align 30+ designers, partners, and engineering around one system and one member standard.
  • Design output outpaced a system that was not yet partner-ready or consistently accessible at scale
  • PDP information had to surface clearly during migration to ESI as PDP provider
  • Secure member experiences needed consolidation onto a single Fondue-based framework
  • High-traffic member tasks could not regress during modernization

Approach

Org & people. I built the team to 30+ designers and invested in growth from within: coaching, critique culture, and promotions in the organization. I lead as a servant leader, helping designers when they need it, setting priorities across journeys, and keeping accessibility review and stakeholder sign-off non-negotiable without becoming the bottleneck on every screen.

Systems: Fondue. I sponsored modernization of Fondue into a partner-friendly system with synchronized design-and-code deployment. We enforce accessibility standards (WCAG) as part of component governance. External partners and internal engineering adopt the same components, which replaces one-off screens and drift between Figma and production. See the dedicated Fondue systems showcase for foundations, components, and governance.

Strategy & delivery. We prioritized member-visible programs with the highest risk and highest traffic first, then phased secondary flows so engineering could ship incrementally. Cross-functional workshops aligned product, compliance, and engineering on what "done" means before handoff.

  • Fondue modernizationPartner-ready system with design and code parity, accessibility standards in governance, and component ownership.
  • Team scale30+ designer org with hiring, coaching, and internal promotions.
  • Cross-functional alignmentShared specs, critique rituals, and prioritization with product, engineering, security, and compliance.

Outcome

  • Team scaleGrew and led a 30+ designer organization with promotions, trust, and accountability built into how we work.
  • FondueModernized a partner-friendly design system with design and code deploying together and accessibility standards enforced in production.
  • PDP migrationMember-facing PDP information surfaced through ESI transition with design leadership end-to-end.
  • Secure memberConsolidated secure member experiences onto a single Fondue-based framework.
  • Servant leadershipSupported designers through delivery while keeping business priorities and member trust in focus.
